Of course, you don't have to limit your health and fitness activities to just one day. Here are a few ways for all the women out there to take care of their health and fitness, no matter what day of the year it is:

Try a new activity

Here in Atlanta, we have organizations like ALTA that give women a place to stay in shape and meet new people by playing sports together. If tennis isn't your thing, there are plenty of other sports you can try!

Consider your diet

Southern cooking is known for its great flavors but smoked ribs, cornbread, and sausage gravy aren't exactly considered health food. Take a look at your diet and think about replacing some of those foods high in fat and sodium with healthier alternatives.

Drink lots of water

This is one simple way to improve your overall health and wellbeing without too much effort. Try carrying a refillable water bottle with you as you go about your daily activities so that cool, refreshing water is always there when you need it.

Get a checkup

Women have some specific health concerns they need to be aware of, especially as they approach age 50. Ask your doctor to check on things like thyroid health, bone density, and more. These tests can help identify problems while there's still plenty of time to get them under control.
