Dr Charles E. Claps is a top notch orthopedic surgeon! He replaced my left hip using the anterior approach. The next day I was released from the hospital, able to walk on my own although using a walker and cane for a few days as directed. I was off pain meds 5 days after surgery and walking two miles on my own with no hip pain! Dr Claps is a patient-focused physician; he kept me informed before, during and after the process. How many surgeons call their patient the evening before surgery?!

Simply, a no nonsense medical professional whose diagnosis is based on careful observation of your specific issue. Surgery only if absolutely necessary. Dr. Wertheim treated me for both a knee and elbow issue. Thank you.

It was a good visit. I got a steroid shot in the hip. He was informative and seemed to care about the problem. I will visit him again if needed. I would recommend him to others.

I am very impressed with Dr. Simon and his medical staff. I had ongoing shoulder pain when I first went to Dr. Simon several months ago. He spent quality time evaluating my condition and conducted a thorough assessment based on my symptoms. I really liked that he took a conservative approach and suggested a cortisone injection without a mention of surgery. When I returned a couple of months later with continued pain, he suggested an MRI, which revealed a full thickness tear in my rotator cuff. Again, Dr. Simon spent a great deal of time with me reviewing and thoroughly explaining the results of the MRI in details that I could understand. Unfortunately, I will need surgery to repair the tendon, but because of Dr. Simon’s professionalism and attentiveness of his nurse, Melanie, and surgical coordinator, Tonya, I feel confident heading into surgery in a couple of weeks.

Dr. Walton is an excellent doctor! I highly recommend him. He is knowledgeable, caring, and professional.

Dr. Ficke is a great surgeon. I found him quite by accident and consider myself extremely lucky to have done so. He's extremely knowledgeable and kind and gentle as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone needing hand surgery. His assistant Leslie is wonderful, too. It's a great office and all the staff was friendly and reassuring in my time of need. I broke my leg on 11/22/2016. I met with Dr. Gary S. Simon for a consultation. He was very optimistic and encouraging. This doctor has excellent bedside manners and he care about his patients. After my surgery he spoke with my family to let them know how i was doing. He also informed them on how surgery went. His PA Kyle is also a very respectful person. I would recommend this practice to my family and friends. Thanks you all for your help and assistance. I will see you soon during my follow-up.

I very recently had total right hip replacement surgery by Dr. Bircoll at DeKalb Medical Surgery Center. The hip replacement has been a complete success and pain that I have experienced in the hip for a long time is gone. In addition, Dr. Bircoll and his staff are outstanding. They worked very hard at each step to make sure that I understood what to do and felt comfortable. They answered questions carefully and completely. I would highly recommend Dr. Bircoll to anyone needing hip surgery.
