Because we are part of the communities we serve, our physicians and staff believe in giving back to support the people in our communities. That’s why we started the Resurgens Charitable Foundation in 2001 and why this year, we’re excited to be working with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) on their GAgives campaign.

What is GAgives?
Since 2012, GCN has organized its GAgives campaign to help raise money for non-profits in the Georgia community. Each year on Giving Tuesday (the Tuesday after Thanksgiving) they work with non-profits in our area to ignite a flurry of donations in the form of a 24-hour marathon of giving. The purpose of GAgives is not just to raise money, but to give Georgia non-profits a platform to raise awareness for their causes, gain new supporters, and raise money online through a full-featured donation platform. These resources are provided free of charge, ensuring that donations go towards the causes they were intended to support rather than paying for fundraising overhead.
Through GAgives, the GCN has helped raise more than $13 million which was disbursed to 2,700 non-profits. Together, the charitable organizations of Giving Tuesday have made it the 3rd biggest day of charitable giving worldwide, raising over $180 million last year alone!
The Resurgens Charitable Foundation
The Resurgens Charitable Foundation was started in 2001 to raise money for building playgrounds in the Atlanta area that can be used by children of all abilities. Even though we know that play is essential to helping young people grow stronger and healthier, we found that kids with disabilities were often feeling left out because local playground facilities were not equipped to meet their needs. To date, our charitable foundation has built over 30 playgrounds in metro Atlanta.
In the past, we’ve raised money through donations, as well as our annual golf tournament, with 100% of the money raised going to support our mission of supporting active lifestyles for people of all ages and abilities . Now that we’re working with the GCN, GAgives, and Giving Tuesday, we hope to raise even more money this year and increase awareness about the benefits of all-abilities playgrounds to kids and families in our community.
