Meet Dr. Robert T. Greenfield

About

Dr. Greenfield joined Resurgens Orthopaedics in 2004 and has served in numerous leadership roles, including as a member of the organization's Board of Directors. He has also been active in hospital leadership and utilization review committees throughout his career.

In addition to treating spinal conditions, Dr. Greenfield has personally experienced them. Having navigated imaging, decision-making, procedures, and rehabilitation himself, he understands the physical discomfort and emotional strain that spine disorders can bring. This firsthand experience deepens his empathy and strengthens his commitment to patient-centered communication and support.

Outside of Work

Dr. Greenfield prioritizes regular exercise and strongly believes in the role of movement and conditioning not only for overall health, but for optimizing surgical outcomes, recovery and long-term musculoskeletal wellness. He enjoys hiking and exploring the area's outdoor spaces as a way to stay active and connected to nature.

An avid gardener, he maintains a vegetable garden and often bonds with patients by exchanging gardening tips. He also plays both piano and bass guitar, citing music as an important creative outlet. Photography has been a lifelong passion of his as well, with a particular interest in sports, landscape, and architectural photography. These varied pursuits help Dr. Greenfield maintain perspective, creativity, and balance—qualities that he sees as essential for his effectiveness as a surgeon and physician.
