Resurgens Orthopaedics strongly supports all efforts to eliminate drug abuse in Georgia and we will continue to abide by safe and lawful prescription practices.

However, the Georgia State Senate is strongly considering a bill that would put severe restrictions on doctors’ ability to care for patients.

If the “SB81” bill is passed, the law will make it much more difficult for all patients to obtain the medications they need to treat the pain one suffers from injuries and surgery.  Rather than having government mandates, we prefer to work together with lawmakers to help find a solution to combat drug abuse while providing the best care for your outcome.

Please protect your medical rights.  Contact your State Senator and tell them you oppose SB 81.

What to tell the Senators:

1) Remove all of the specific directives regarding the supply of medication that a physician can prescribe. Allow the Composite Board of Medical Examiners to seek out physicians that over-prescribe and deal with them according to established rules.

2) Because of the harsh penalties proposed in this bill, physicians would be forced to undertreat patients in legitimate pain at fear of the authorities misinterpreting their motives and prosecuting them for what is actually the good practice of medicine.

3) Work together with our healthcare providers to find a better solution that serves us all.
