Fracture of the Collarbone (Clavicle)

This condition occurs when a part of the clavicle, commonly called the collarbone, is fractured. A broken collarbone is a fairly common shoulder injury, and occurs most frequently in children and athletes.

A collarbone fracture is one of several types of shoulder fractures. Other common shoulder fractures include fractures of the shoulder blade (scapula), proximal humerus fracture, fracture of the shoulder socket (glenoid fracture) and fractures of the greater tuberosity.
