Good Morning, I would like to extend my greatest thanks and appreciation to the Resurgens Orthopaedics Team in Cumming, GA. The two doctors that I see are Dr. Mathew Levine and Dr. Kristen Willett. I started having nagging discomfort in my lumbar and groin earlier on in 2025. This pain seemed to never fade. After not seeing any issues in the X-Rays, Resurgens suggested Physical Therapy to see if the issue would resolve. Unfortunately the PT did not help with my specific issues. We then proceeded with an MRI. I am grateful that we took this step. The MRI was able to show my doctors the issues causing the pain. I had a labral tear, hip impingement, osteoarthritis in my hip and SI Joint as well as two herniated discs in the lower lumbar area. We decided to try hip and SI Joint steroid injections. Unfortunately those did not relieve the pain that I felt (Dr. Willett is amazing by the way), she and her team have wonderful bedside manner and will make you feel as comfortable as possible. Injections do not work for all. No one to blame but the underlying issue itself. Ultimately, I decided with Dr. Mathew Levine to go forward with total right hip replacement (anterior approach). Today 12/23/2025, I am 3 months post-surgery and feeling better as the weeks go on. Some pain felt is expected as hip replacement is a major procedure and takes time to completely heal. Some ask if I regret having the surgery, my answer is no. I feel much better today than in March of this year. Slow and steady wins the race and healing is the same for such a procedure. After hip replacement, I did do more therapy for my SI Joint, which surprisingly has worked!! I no longer am feeling SI pain and if it creeps back in, I now know what exercises to do to stop it. I hope Dr. Levine and Dr. Willett know just how important and appreciated they are to the people that they serve. God truly has put them in place to help everyone that they can. Thank you so very much! ~Keyonna Weed

Dr. Levine has been great from the first visit. He listened to my concerns and answered all of my questions. While it is too early to know the full outcome of the surgery he and his wonderful staff did on my knee, I feel confident the outcome will be a success.

Experience in Orthopedic Surgery

Hip and knee replacement surgery has evolved remarkably in recent years, and Dr. Levine has remained at the forefront of these advances. One of the most significant developments has been the focus on same-day discharge following hip and knee replacement. Through carefully refined protocols and advanced surgical techniques, many patients can now safely return home the same day as their procedure, recovering in the comfort of their own environment. This approach not only improves patient satisfaction but also reduces the risk of hospital-acquired complications.

As a certified MAKOplasty surgeon, Dr. Levine utilizes robotic-assisted technology for total hip arthroplasty, unicondylar knee replacement, and total knee arthroplasty. This advanced robotic system allows Dr. Levine to create a personalized surgical plan based on each patient's unique anatomy, enabling high precision in implant positioning and alignment.

Dr. Levine's expertise in direct anterior total hip arthroplasty represents another advancement in minimally invasive techniques. This approach utilizes a natural interval between muscles, avoiding cutting through major muscle groups. Patients benefit from less postoperative pain, faster recovery, and reduced risk of dislocation compared to traditional approaches.
