Success Stories

  • Cynthia Poundstone

“Dr. Fogle and the Resurgens staff did everything they could to help me move forward in a positive way.”

Resurgens Patient Gets Back to Serving Others After ACL Tear

Cynthia Poundstone of Dunwoody, Georgia is what many would call a classic “good Samaritan.” A teacher at Dunwoody Springs Elementary for over 20 years, the primary caregiver to her elderly parent for nearly 10 years, and a missionary traveling to places like Haiti, Kenya, and South Africa in her spare time, Cindy’s dedication to the service of others always keeps her active and on the go.  When she isn’t creating lesson plans, spending time with her family, or returning from a trip abroad, Cindy also enjoys a good game of tennis, which she has played for more than 15 years.   In June 2012, Cindy was just getting back into her summer tennis... "Every time I would see Dr. Fogle he would be so upbeat and encouraging, always focusing on my progress."

Local Triathlete Returns to Resurgens After Devastating Bike Accident, Makes Full Recovery

Jerry Lambert, 57, of Dunwoody, Georgia, is a regular competitor in triathlons across the southeast.  Not much holds him back from his active lifestyle, thanks to the care of Resurgens’ physicians and overseeing injuries over the years.  Even after recovering from a broken clavicle, Lambert resumed competing in triathlons just months after surgery.  During a morning bike ride in the spring of 2014, on a trail near Amelia Island, Florida, Lambert was in a serious biking accident involving a collision with another biker on the trail.  After x-rays taken at the local hospital revealed a severe fracture of his clavicle, doctors urged Lambert to see a specialist... “The outcome of the surgery has far exceeded even my wildest expectations”

Resurgens Orthopaedics Patient Returns to Active Lifestyle After 10 Years of Suffering

After intensifying shoulder pain made daily activities like adjusting the rearview mirror in his car an excruciating task, Atlanta resident Kurt Morris doubted that he could return to the very active lifestyle he once enjoyed as a lifelong sports and exercise enthusiast. Since undergoing a successful humeral head resurfacing surgery performed by Resurgens Orthopaedics surgeon Dr. Evander Fogle, Morris is back in action, defying even his own expectations.  Morris’ passion for healthy and active living was evident from an early age.  He maintained a regular schedule of workouts and recreational sports activities as he started a family and began a career in the banking... • Bobby Green

Dr. Fogle’s communication skills and attention to detail were exemplary.

Cyclist Bobby Green "back to doing everything" he hoped to do after multiple surgeries

Bobby Green may have preferred a visit from Santa this past Christmas instead of a visit to the ER, but he did get a great gift nonetheless — a surgically repaired clavicle from Resurgens Orthopaedics surgeon Dr. Evander Fogle and a return to his bike.  After recovering from a broken elbow sustained in November 2012, Green, an avid road cyclist, was itching to get back on his bike and get out on the Silver Comet Trail. Mission accomplished, and then mission derailed. On his first day back in the saddle, he had a major accident and broke his clavicle. It was the Saturday before Christmas, and the Resurgens offices were closed, but they were able to get an... Continue Reading

  • Chris Callahan

Once again, Resurgens provided Mr. Callahan with a successful procedure.

Chris Callahan, 61, Finishes Advanced 142 Mile Mountain Biking Trail After Two Major Surgeries at Resurgens

Callahan Praises Dr. Bailey, Dr. Fogle, and Physical Therapist Marshall for Their Outstanding Work, Service Five years removed from two major surgeries that would slow most people down, Chris Callahan conquered the legendary 142 mile Kokopelli mountain bike trail that winds from Fruita, CO to Moab, UT. A lifelong mountain biker, he credits Resurgens Orthopaedics—the largest orthopaedics practice in Georgia—with not only keeping him on the bike, but allowing him to still ride at such a high level.  Callahan underwent two procedures at Resurgens with two different doctors: Dr. Erroll Bailey performed his Achilles repair and Dr. Evander... Physical Therapy Allowed Resurgens Orthopaedics Patient To Postpone and Perhaps Avoid Rotator Cuff Surgery

Lisa Maggart Wins Third Place in ‘What Does Resurgenize Mean to You' Contest Lisa Maggart of Norcross had just started a new job when she woke up one morning unable to lift her right arm more than three inches from her side. In excruciating pain, she went to an orthopaedist who recommended surgery immediately.  Knowing that recovery time after rotator cuff surgery would cause her to lose her job, she sought a second opinion from Dr. Evander Fogle at Resurgens Orthopaedics.  Maggart submitted her story to Resurgens' recent “What Does Resurgenize Mean To You” contest and was recognized as a winner by Scott Slade on Atlanta's... Dry Needling Returns Athlete to Competition

Adriana is one of our most active patients; at age 64 she loves open-water long-distance swimming, competing in global triathlons, and teaching Pilates and water-aerobics in Metro-Atlanta. While competing in the 2013 World Triathlon Championships in London Adriana crashed while cycling and broke her collarbone.  Upon her return to the States, she saw Dr. Fogle who helped her get back to competing without surgery. In July of 2016 her shoulder developed shoulder impingement syndrome, a very painful condition caused by inflammation from repetitive shoulder activities . The pain was so severe she couldn’t lift her arm for everyday tasks, let alone swim, train, or... Continue Reading
