About

Dr. Shoops and his wife are both proud natives of the Atlanta area. Dr. Shoops has always had a goal to return and serve his community after completing his medical training. Having been a Resurgens patient himself, during medical school, he feels very fortunate to have the opportunity to practice medicine at Resurgens Orthopaedics and guarantee his patients have access to the highest quality care right in their own community.

At Resurgens, Dr. Shoops is dedicated to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where patients feel listened to, respected, and confident in their care. His team provides compassionate, patient-centered treatment tailored to each individual; seamless coordination from the first appointment through surgery and rehabilitation; and consistent support throughout every stage of recovery. Whether patients are exploring nonsurgical options, preparing for surgery, or healing afterward, Dr. Shoops and his team are committed to helping them regain mobility and enjoy a higher quality of life.

Outside of Work

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Shoops enjoys time with his wife and two golden retrievers. Outside of the office, Dr. Shoops enjoys tennis, golf, and snow skiing. As a Georgia native, he is an avid Dawgs, Falcons, and Braves fan. On the weekends, you will likely find him trying out new restaurants or playing for his local ALTA team.
