Meet Dr. Michele T. Perez

About

Dr. Perez earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center and moved to Atlanta in 1998 to begin her internship at Atlanta Medical Center. She later completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Emory University, where she served as Chief Resident and Lecture Coordinator.

She has practiced at Resurgens Orthopaedics since 2002, and has been deeply involved in clinical leadership. Dr. Perez served on the Resurgens Clinical Governance Board and has been a long-standing member of the Medical Executive Committee at Northwest Georgia Orthopedic Surgery Center. She is also an active member of the North American Spine Society.

Her career reflects a commitment to clinical excellence, education, and collaborative patient care.

Outside of Work

Originally from New Orleans, Dr. Perez has called Georgia home since 1998 and considers Marietta her community. She and her husband raised two sons in Marietta City Schools and built lasting relationships through local sports and community involvement. Today, she and her husband frequently visit their sons in Utah and California.

Outside the office, she enjoys yoga, hiking, travel, and reading—sometimes combining all four in one adventure. She is an accomplished acrobatic gymnastics athlete, having won the National Championship and competed in the World Cup before retiring from the sport to focus on her career in medicine.
