Dr. Ryan C. Chen Finishes in the Top 50 Runners At Annual Kaiser Permanente Event

Sports Medicine specialist Dr. Ryan C. Chen finished first among 210 Resurgens Orthopaedics participants at the annual Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk, held September 10 in downtown Atlanta. Of the thousands of total participants, Dr. Chen placed in the top 50.

"Physical fitness is important to injury prevention and overall health," Dr. Chen said. "This race was an excellent way to show our patients that we practice what we preach."

The annual Corporate Run/Walk attracts 15,000 participants of all levels of fitness (walkers, joggers, and competitive runners) from more than 400 Atlanta companies as well as hundreds of individual participants. Phase one of the program includes a free eight-week training membership, monthly fit tips, personal health assessment tools, and healthy recipes. The program culminates at Turner Field with a 5K (3.1 mile) Corporate Run/Walk and company picnic.

Dr. Chen practices at the Resurgens Marietta and Woodstock offices. His areas of expertise include arthroscopic knee and shoulder reconstruction, sports medicine, and hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacement. He completed his residency at Washington University / Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri, and a fellowship at Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center; Noyes Knee Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Dr. Chen received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and is Board Eligible through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
