Forsyth Central High School Freshman Makes Varsity Team Following Treatment for a Broken Foot
When star softball pitcher Caroline Thomas, 14, of Cumming broke her right foot last spring, she worried about being on the bench for the season. However, two days after her cast was removed following treatment at Resurgens Orthopaedics, she was back on the mound pitching in a national competition.
Her dad, Chris Thomas, praised Dr. Sami Khan of the Resurgens Orthopaedics Johns Creek office for taking such good care of Caroline. “We did exactly what they told us to do, and two days after her cast was off, she was ready to pitch,” her dad said.
Caroline’s team, Wild Wild West-Gandolfi, finished ninth out of 54 teams in the Amateur Softball Association of America (ASA) 14U Northern Nationals in Bowling Green, KY, July 27. Speaking of Dr. Khan, Thomas said, “We followed your PT advice and just as you said, she was ready to resume her sports activities once her boot was off. Awesome!”
Now a freshman at Forsyth Central High School, Caroline made the varsity softball team this fall. “She’s getting back in the swing of things and trying to keep improving her pitching. She has no complications from the broken foot,” Thomas said.
Thomas said that after Caroline’s injury, they knew the foot was broken so they went straight to Resurgens because of the reputation of the practice.
In an email to the staff at the Resurgens Johns Creek office, Thomas said, “I just want to say thanks for the great job you did on Caroline’s broken foot. It was a difficult break to deal with and didn’t leave us many options, but you and your team did a great job of getting her back to form.”
“Thanks again for all you did and for making her feel special. You and your team’s individual attention to her on a personal level was, and is, really appreciated,” Thomas wrote.
