Six physicians from Resurgens Orthopaedics—Georgia’s largest orthopaedic practice—were named to the 2012 list of Top Docs in the July issue of Atlanta magazine.
Drs. Erroll J. Bailey, Edward H. Holliger IV, Robert A. Kelly, Kenneth J. Kress, Douglas W. Lundy, and Yvonne E. Satterwhite were included in the prestigious listing.

Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., an established healthcare research company based in New York, compiles Atlanta magazine’s list of Top Doctors annually. Its physician-led team of researchers selects Top Doctors through a rigorous screening process that includes evaluation of education and professional experience. Top Doctors were nominated by both a nationwide survey administered by Castle Connolly and by licensed physicians in DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb, Clayton and Gwinnett counties who submitted online votes for exceptional colleagues they would send their own families to.
Dr. Bailey practices at the Resurgens Decatur, Midtown, and St. Joseph’s offices. His areas of expertise include adult reconstruction of the foot and ankle, sports medicine of the foot and ankle, general orthopaedics, and diabetic feet. A graduate of Harvard Medical School, Dr. Bailey completed his residency at Harvard Combined Orthopaedic Program and his fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery—St. Luke’s in New York. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Foot & Ankle Society, the Atlanta Orthopaedic Society, and the Atlanta Medical Association. Dr. Bailey was also honored as a Top Doc by Atlanta magazine in 2011.
Dr. Holliger practices at the Resurgens Cumming and Roswell offices. His areas of expertise include surgery of the hand and upper extremity. He completed his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine in Cincinnati, Ohio, and his residency at Emory University in Atlanta. He completed a fellowship in Hand, Upper Extremity and Microvascular surgery at Duke University in Durham, NC. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and earned a Certificate of Added Qualification for Surgery of the Hand (CAQSH). He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and Medical Association of Georgia.
Dr. Kelly practices at the Resurgens Canton, Kennesaw, and Woodstock offices. His areas of expertise include arthroscopy, joint replacement, and joint resurfacing / restoration. Dr. Kelly completed his medical degree and his residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine and a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. He is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Georgia Orthopaedic Society, Medical Association of Georgia, Atlanta Orthopaedic Society, and Cobb County Medical Society. Dr. Kelly was also honored as a Top Doc by Atlanta magazine in 2011.
Dr. Kress practices at the Resurgens St. Joseph’s office. His areas of expertise include adult reconstructive surgery. He recently received the 2012 E. Napier Burson Jr. MD Award at St. Joseph’s Hospital for his commitment to his patients and to the practice of medicine. He completed his medical degree at Cornell University Medical College and his residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery of Cornell University. He completed the Dr. John C. Garrett fellowship in knee reconstruction. Dr. Kress is board certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Southern Medical Association, Southern Orthopaedic Association, Medical Association of Atlanta, Medical Association of Georgia, American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and Atlanta Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Kress was also honored as a Top Doc by Atlanta magazine in 2011.
Dr. Lundy practices at the Resurgens Marietta and Roswell offices. His areas of expertise include orthopaedic trauma surgery and fracture and fracture reconstructive surgery. Dr. Lundy completed his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta and his residency at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Lundy is a member of the American Orthopaedic Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Orthopaedic Trauma Association, Georgia Orthopaedic Society, Southeastern Fracture Consortium, ACS Committee on Trauma, AO Alumni Association, Vanderbilt Orthopaedic Society, Christian Medical and Dental Association, Medical Association of Georgia, and Atlanta Orthopaedic Society. He is a member of the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2010. Dr. Lundy is past-chair of the Medical Liability Committee of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the Council on Advocacy of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, an at-large member of the Board of Directors of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and an examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Lundy was also honored as a Top Doc by Atlanta magazine in 2011.
Dr. Satterwhite practices at the Resurgens Johns Creek office. Her areas of expertise include general orthopaedics, sports medicine, surgery of the shoulder, knee, and elbow, and arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Satterwhite completed her medical degree and her residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. She also completed the James R. Andrews, M.D. & William G. Clancy, M.D. fellowship at Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham in sports medicine. She is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has a certificate of added qualification in orthopedic sports medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Olympic Sports Medicine Society, American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society, Hughston Society, Tulane Caldwell Society, and FORUM Women's Orthopaedic Society. Dr. Satterwhite was also honored as a Top Doc by Atlanta magazine in 2011.
