On May 15th, David J. Covall, MD received the President’s award in recognition of his contributions and support to NAON. NAON is an organization that promotes education and research related to nursing care of persons with orthopaedic conditions.
NAON annually recognizes one person in the nation for their support and contributions to NAON. “Our physicians are devoted to providing the best possible care,” said Resurgens co-president Dr. Kay Kirkpatrick. “It’s fulfilling to have that dedication to excellence recognized by organizations such as NAON.”
Dr. Covall said he is honored to receive the President’s Award. “I would like to thank NAON and their continued support of research in the field of Orthopaedics.”
Dr. Covall practices at the Cumming office of Resurgens Orthopaedics—Georgia’s largest orthopaedic practice. He previously served as a co-medical director of Resurgens Joint Replacement Center, and he holds patents in hip and knee joint implant designs. During his career, Dr. Covall has also served as a consultant to the NFL Players Association and is a fellow with the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
Dr. Covall’s areas of expertise include surgical management of arthritis and complex hip and knee reconstruction. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Boston Medical Center. His additional training includes a fellowship at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Mass. He also received his undergraduate degree with honors from Harvard College, Cambridge, MA.
