Dr. Steven B. Wertheim Honored by Business Leader Magazine For His Contribution to the Growth of Atlanta Healthcare
Dr. Steven B. Wertheim, co-president of Resurgens Orthopaedics—Georgia’s largest orthopaedic practice—was named an Atlanta Healthcare Leader for 2011 by Business Leader magazine.
Dr. Wertheim, who practices at the Resurgens St. Joseph’s and Windy Hill offices, was featured in the magazine’s September-October issue. He is one of 12 healthcare leaders who will be recognized Oct. 28 at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center for their achievements and contributions to the healthcare industry and the greater Atlanta community.
Dr. Wertheim said he is honored to be among the list of healthcare leaders. “At Resurgens, we take pride in providing our patients the highest quality patient care, and I’m honored to have our organization recognized for our leadership in orthopaedic care in metro Atlanta.”
The magazine cited Dr. Wertheim for his leadership at Resurgens, and praised the practice for integrating “patient evaluation/office visits, advanced imaging, physical therapy and surgery into a complete patient experience under the control of the physician to provide the best, most cost effective care.”
Dr. Wertheim’s area of expertise is sports medicine and arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder. He is a former team physician for the Philadelphia Flyers, Atlanta Knights, and University of Pennsylvania athletic teams and was a physician at the Olympic Village during the 1996 Olympics.
He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Wertheim completed his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University, his residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland, and a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
