Dr. David J. Covall Listed As One of the 70 Best Hip Surgeons and Specialists in the Nation by Becker’s Magazine
Resurgens Orthopaedics physician Dr. David J. Covall was named to the list of 70 of the best hip surgeons and specialists in America by Becker’s Orthopedic & Spine Review, a national orthopaedics publication.
Dr. Covall practices at the Cumming office of Resurgens Orthopaedics—Georgia’s largest orthopaedic practice. He was cited for his work in the surgical management of arthritis and complex hip and knee reconstruction. He previously served as a co-medical director of Resurgens Joint Replacement Center, and he holds patents in hip and knee joint implant designs.
During his career, Dr. Covall has also served as a consultant to the NFL Player’s Association and is a fellow with the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
The hip specialists listed in the May 24 issue of Becker’s were selected based on the awards they received from major orthopedic organizations, leadership in those organizations, work on professional publications, and positions of service held at hospitals and practices. All surgeons on the list have undergone substantial review from the Becker’s editorial staff and orthopaedic physician leaders. Surgeons do not pay and cannot pay to be selected as an outstanding hip specialist.

Dr. Covall’s areas of expertise include surgical management of arthritis and complex hip and knee reconstruction. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and a fellow of both the
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Boston Medical Center. His additional training includes a fellowship at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Mass. He also received his undergraduate degree with honors from Harvard College, Cambridge, Mass.
