Resurgens Lawrenceville Employees Donate $350 in Proceeds to Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett
Clinic Provides Income-Sensitive Care for the Uninsured
Employees of the Resurgens Orthopaedics Lawrenceville office used their culinary creativity to help promote wellness for the residents of their community.
Brianne Malone, Jayna Hall, and Danielle Mariotti started cooking for a cause, creating a cookbook full of delectable recipes such as Grilled London Broil and Peppermint Smoothies. The $350 in proceeds from this inventive fundraising initiative has been donated to Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett.
Dr. Michael Morris of the Resurgens Lawrenceville office is on the board of directors at Good Samaritan.
"There's a great need for the services we provide," said Dr. Morris. "Many of our patients can't afford the care they require at more traditional establishments. Every donation we get enables us to provide quality medical care to those who don't have other options."
Good Samaritan Health Center of Gwinnett is a non-profit clinic serving the uninsured. They offer adult and pediatric primary care, dental services, optometric services, counseling, lab services, and patient education. Patients are charged what they can afford, based on an income-sensitive sliding scale. Some can contribute only the change in their pockets, but they still receive quality care. Donations are needed to help cover the high costs of providing services. Community support is vital to the clinic's survival.
